#13 Stay at a Bed and Breakfast
Kenny and I went to Savannah for a weekend and stayed at the 1895 Inn. The B&B was delightful and within walking distance to everything. Not to mention, it was one of the best-priced B&Bs in the Historical Center. Ed and Bob (the owners) cooked an outstanding breakfast each morning and were chalk full of information about Savannah. It was a really great weekend!
#39 Send thank you notes by May 1, 2010
This one is in progress, but I'm happy to report that I'll reach this goal. Actually, the plan is to get them out by the end of this week...hopefully!
#40 Make a newlywed map
More on this one when it's finished, but when we were in Savannah we picked up an awesome world map at a place called The Paris Markets - by far one of the coolest stores I've been to. Kenny and I could've stayed there for hours. It's like an Anthropologie, but only their "home" section and with prices that are unbelievably affordable. It's too good to be true, really.
#63 Spend an entire day "unplugged" once every three months a year. (1/12)
YES! We walked around Savannah so much that I didn't even have time to get online. And after a hard work week, not being connected was just what I needed.
#68 Watch all six Star Wars (0/6)
We watched 4, 5, and 6 this weekend. It was my first time seeing them.
#75 Try one new recipe a month
7. Coconut Macaroons - Got this ridiculously easy recipe from my friend Kelly. It's so simple:
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut shavings
2 large egg whites
2 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all by hand and form into small balls. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper; cook for 30 minutes flipping/turning macaroons half way through.
8. Pizza Week This week was beyond awesome and if you haven't read about our pizzas then you should do so. But I warn you: check it out after you've already eaten, because it's been known to make you want pizza!
9. Baked Lemon Pasta with Cedar Plank Salmon and Roasted Mushrooms. This was more like a three-in-one for new recipes, but it turned out great! The salmons was flavorful and was fantastic with the zesty pasta. Next time I make this I'll tone down the lemony flavor a bit.10. Tomato, Mozzarella, and Pesto Pannini. I made this up on my own for lunch.
12. Buffalo Chicken Wings - Used Alton Brown's recipe and it—yet again—ceased to fail us. Next time we'll up the heat a bit, but these were deeeeelicious.
#96 Plant flowers
We actually planted flowers a few weeks ago and they're finally starting to sprout! It's very exciting to see something come from nothing!
#97 Plant Vegetables
Kenny and I have spent the past week working on our garden. Kenny's worked on it more, but I definitely got my hands, knees, feet, and clothes dirty, too. The only problem is that our puppy likes to hop the fence and dig, so we're not sure what's actually going to produce produce.
#100 Take a bubble bath with candles at least once a month
My lovely husband drew a bath for me a couple weeks ago to help me get rid of a headache. It was delightful
